Greg Prince wins President’s Appreciation Award
JRC truck driver recognized for his experience and service
JRC Transportation President, Ray Cappella presents driver, Greg Prince with JRC’s President Appreciation Award for July 2017. Each month, Mr. Cappella hand picks a driver to receive the award and $500 dollars. Greg operates out of our Ohio office. He has been trucking for most of his adult life and has shown himself to be hardworking, professional and a great mentor to other drivers.
Greg’s love for trucking started back when he was 14 years old helping his dad making corn and coal runs through Ohio, West Virginia, and Kentucky. Greg’s been driving a truck for over 40 years, including while he served in the military. I had the pleasure to sit down with Greg and talk about his experience and what advice he has for today’s new generation of truck drivers. He mentioned 3 key factors to being a successful owner operator are:
- To be disciplined
- Covering the fixed expenses
- Taking pride in your work
Greg said that he feels that the older, more experienced drivers really have something to offer younger drivers and they should be mentoring them in order to ensure the next generation of drivers have a good foundation and a strong work ethic.
We greatly appreciate the great job Greg does and the leadership and experience he shares with other drivers.
We are proud to have Greg as part of our JRC family and we congratulate him on receiving this award. Way to go, Greg keep up the good work!
Past 2017 award winners include Damien Samuels (Jan), Daniel Mendes (Feb), Ronnie Torrance (March), Luis Schay (April), Bill Cole (May), Daniel Staddard (June).
